How is DAIN comparable to a huge brain?
Any user can teach the brain how to perform certain tasks and subsequently ask for these tasks to be executed. Likewise, another user can ask for the same tasks to be executed, as long as the first user has instructed the brain to allow others to access this knowledge.
The brain will remember all the tasks it learns and continuously improve its performance of them. Eventually, it could perform any number of tasks simultaneously, with the sole limitation of its size. The brain has the potential for unlimited growth by adding more computing devices. Like a natural brain, it must consume energy to perform any task. In this case, the energy is the reward given to the device owners.
Despite its great impact on society and enormous demand, AI and its needs are difficult to understand. Businesses and professionals are not prepared for its large-scale exploitation. These circumstances especially affect the most traditional companies, which are at a disadvantage amid disruptive transformation. To ensure the fair, cheap and agile integration of AI in society, benefiting both companies and their customers, specific tools are needed that address these entry barriers.

José Ramón is Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Architect at Banco Sabadell in Spain. He previously worked as a consultant, participating in multiple digital transformation projects in several financial institutions as well as in the design and development of innovative digital assets in technologies such as big data, IoT, AR, VR, mobile and blockchain. José Ramón defines himself as a technologist and dominates multiple disciplines. He has a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from University of Alcalá and a master’s in Intelligent Electronic Systems.
Luis is Chief Information Officer at Deutsche Bank Spain. Previously, he held different management positions at financial institutions and technology and consulting companies. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, he completed his education at Instituto de Empresa and Yale University. Luis brings with him in-depth experience in transforming technology shops into highly complex and regulated environments and the adoption of new computing paradigms. Previously, he founded two startups in the cloud and mobile payments sectors.
Carlos holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from UPM and an executive master’s degree from Groupe HEC Paris. He has more than 15 years of experience performing management functions for business development and growth at multinationals in the consulting, technology, big data and analytics sectors, such as Ericsson, Steria, Amdocs and Pontis (a Sequoia company). Broad Europe business development experience in all aspects of new & existing business, sales, account development, startup ventures, alliances & partnerships, 'go to market' solution launch and planning and P&L responsibility.
Jesús, who has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, has extensive experience in team management both at Repsol, where he has worked since 1993, and previously at companies such as Ernst & Young and Telefónica. His great leadership capacity has brought him notable success when directing projects of high technological risk for Repsol in the field of information technology in upstream, refining and petrochemicals. He has also supervised research and development projects for the Repsol Technology Center in the fields of computing and industrial mathematics.
Luis has been consistently committed to entrepreneurial activities since he began his career over 20 years ago. After gaining experience in C-level positions in technology and service companies, he began to specialize in corporate finance and fundraising for SMEs and startups. Soon after, he started working as a private fundraiser and collaborator with other corporate finance companies.
Serial Entrepreneur +10y of multidisciplinary expertise on startups and big corporations, developing and bringing disruptive solutions based on artificial intelligence and big data. Ex everis (NTT Data) Head of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in the disruption innovation unit (NextGen) also Chief Hacking Officer at everis (NTT Data). Previously Head of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Lab, also, worked as independent contractor for different biggest ICT companies.
Daniel transforms ideas into projects with the aim of validating them, making them grow and giving them the necessary traction to make them invoice, last or sell. With more than 1.2 million euros invoiced in different projects of Growth, Crowdfunding and funnels of sales, from Facebook to Google. It has launched two Startups. He has been Design Leader in Técnicas Reunidas and Business Leader in NTT Disruption.
PhD in Computer Engineering from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, ICAI in 2005. He is a professor in the Department of Telematics and Computing of the ICAI School of Engineering. Currently, he is the coordinator of the master’s in Big Data Technologies and Advanced Analytics program. Previously, he was Director of the Information Systems Department, Head of Computer Engineering Studies and Head of Computer Engineering Studies and Promotion Coordinator at ICAI. His work areas are programming, big data, blockchain, communications and telematics.
Professor David Contreras Bárcena graduated from the ICAI School of Engineering at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in 1998. He obtained his PhD at the same university in July 2010. In 1998, he began teaching in the Department of Telematics and Computing (ICAI). His areas of interest are wireless communications, software development, deployment of cloud computing, IoT, big data and blockchain solutions. He is currently the Director of the Department of Telematics and Computing.
Bachelor's degrees from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM): Mathematics and Computer Engineering. Master's Degrees: Mathematics and Applications with specialty in Initiation to Mathematical Research and Research and Innovation in Information and Communications Technologies specialized in Computational Intelligence. International PhD from the La Caixa-Severo Ochoa Foundation Program. Currently teach as professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ICAI). D. Alfaya is exempt from participating in the project between 1/5/2019 and 12/31/2019 due to an exclusive research contract with the Higher Council for Scientific Research - CSIC.
Professor Alejandro García San Luis graduated from Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid in 1991. In 1993, he began teaching at the E.T.S. of the ICAI School of Engineering at Universidad Pontificia Comillas, focusing on Computer Science in the area of communications. He has been Head of Studies in Computer Engineering Management (2001-2011), Head of Computer Systems Engineering Technical Studies (2004-2011) and Head of Computer Engineering Studies (2008-2011), positions held at the E.T.S. of the ICAI School of Engineering. His work areas are communications and telematics.
After completing his studies at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in 1998, Professor Israel Alonso Martínez began to teach Computer Engineering and Computer Technical Engineering at the ICAI School of Engineering, focusing on subjects in the areas of Databases and Operating Systems. He is currently a professor of Telematics Engineering (Telecommunications Engineering Program).
